11. What are FSL/FSLK drilling systems?
FSL refers to a YESTOOL drilling system designed for high-performance drilling applications. FSL drill bodies are commonly used with replaceable carbide inserts for accuracy, stability, and efficiency.
FSLK drill bodies are extended-length drilling bodies designed for deeper drilling applications where additional reach is required.
12. What is the difference between IDP, IDF, ID, and IDFK inserts?
Each insert is designed for a specific drilling application. IDP inserts are commonly used for deep-hole and general-purpose drilling. IDF inserts are used for thin plate and shallow drilling. ID inserts are used for general-purpose drilling. IDFK inserts are designed for structural steel applications.
13. Are YESTOOL tools compatible with CNC machines?
Yes. YESTOOL tools are designed for use in CNC machining applications and can also be used in conventional machining setups, depending on the tool type and application. Their drilling systems, carbide inserts, and cutting tools are made for precision, performance, and durability in demanding machining environments.
14. What is an SLK drill body?
An SLK drill body is a shorter/stub-style drill body used when rigidity, stability, and shorter reach are preferred.
15. Can inserts be replaced without changing the drill body?
Yes. YESTOOL drill bodies are designed to use replaceable carbide inserts, allowing you to change the insert without replacing the entire drill body. This helps extend the life of the drill body and keeps tooling costs lower over time.
16. How do I choose the correct insert for my application?
Choosing the correct YESTOOL insert or drill body depends on your material, hole size, drilling depth, and machining setup. Different inserts are designed for different applications, such as deep-hole drilling, general-purpose drilling, thin plate drilling, shallow drilling, or structural steel applications.
For best results, match the insert type and drill body to your specific material and cutting requirements. If you are unsure which option is best for your application, please contact us at 973-772-1201 and our team will be happy to help you choose the correct tooling.
17. What are reduction sleeves used for?
YESTOOL reduction sleeves are used to adapt metric tool shanks to standard inch tool holders. They help provide a secure, accurate fit between the cutting tool and holder, making them useful for CNC and conventional machining applications where proper tool alignment and stability are important.
18. Are YESTOOL products compatible with Aloris tools?
Yes. Many YESTOOL products are designed to work with Aloris tooling and machining applications. Aloris is the official importer and distributor of YESTOOL products, offering a reliable selection of YESTOOL drills, inserts, reduction sleeves, and cutting tools for CNC and conventional machining use.
For proper fit and performance, always match the correct YESTOOL product to your specific Aloris holder, machine setup, and application.
19. Can YESTOOL drills be used with coolant-through applications?
Yes. Many YESTOOL drilling systems are designed for coolant-through applications, helping improve chip evacuation, reduce heat, and extend tool life.
20. How do I know what size drill body I need?
The correct drill body depends on the hole diameter, drilling depth, material, and machine setup. Customers should match the drill body size to their required hole size and application. For additional guidance, please refer to the insert selection chart in Question #16.
